James Cameron has been hinting at a sequel to Avatar. This is big news with the DVD release right around the corner.
Cameron has said the follow-up will focus more on the ocean of Pandora than the rain forest. Cameron wants to create a new environment to take the characters.
I am not going to act like I saw this coming or that I like it. I felt the story wrapped up nicely in the original. This just seems like a way to milk the story for more money (of course).
This definitely will tarnish the original if the follow up sucks. If it follows suit with Pirates and Transformers it may not even be worth my ten dollars.
Lets be honest Pirates 2 and 3 were not terrible but were shadows of the original. Transformers 2 was awful.
As a fan of the original Avatar I will probably see the sequel. I am sure I will be disappointed though.
